Two Critical Accidents

There were two critical car accidents over the weekend.

In Costa Mesa, a woman collided into another car on 19th street, around 11:25 p.m. Friday night. The other driver got out of his car to check the damage. The female driver then struck him again, pinning him between her vehicle and his vehicle. She then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital for severe injuries to his legs. Thankfully, he is expected to survive. Investigators found a partial license plate print had been imprinted on the victim’s vehicle. Police were able to trace the license plate. They found the suspect in her home at about 1:25 a.m. Saturday. She was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and felony DUI. Investigators believe that the suspect was previously arrested for drunken driving.

Another serious accident occurred Saturday morning. A pedestrian was critically injured in a Santa Ana hit and run. The pedestrian was struck while in a crosswalk. Authorities received reports of an accident on 500 block of North Bristol Street at 1:35 a.m. Police arrived at the scene and found the victim lying in the street.

Witnesses reported that the victim was crossing Bristol. A car struck the person and then fled. Unfortunately, none of the witnesses were able to describe the vehicle. The pedestrian is suspected to survive.

Thankfully, the victims, in these two accidents, are expected survive. However, their recovery process will be long and difficult.
