A pedestrian involved in an Irvine car accident near University High School succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a hospital on Monday.

Medicals respondents arrived to the site at approximately 4:30 p.m. to give a 78-year-old man who was struck by a car medical attention.

The pedestrian allegedly ran across the roadway on at Campus Drive and Paseo Montoya and was attempting to cross Campus at the time of the accident. It was during this time that he was struck by the vehicle, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi told reporters.

Concialdi said that the force of the impact threw the man “a good distance.”

He suffered serious injuries at the time of the Irvine car accident and had to be transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died from his injuries.

Officials want to notify the family of the victim before possibly releasing a name.

The accident remains under investigation. The driver operating the vehicle that hit the man remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No immediate arrests or citations were reported.

Motor vehicle collisions can happen at any time and when they do happen, those involved are rarely prepared to deal with the issues that surround a crash.  We have seen that most victims lack the experience to deal with an insurance company on their own to get the fullest compensation possible and are often left exploited while the insurance company gets claims more revenue.

Insurance companies are trained to pay out as little as possible and if you were not at fault they tend to make you believe that you were responsible for the damages. This is costly and may result in you having to deal with the repercussions of the accident, sometimes for the rest of your life.

We work hard to get clients the highest compensation possible from their Irvine injury case. Car Crashes through I-5 Overpass Wall, Kills Driver

A man was found dead inside a burning vehicle that had crashed through an overpass wall in Irvine, Sunday night. Investigators are still working to identify the driver of the single-vehicle crash.

Motorists near the scene reported that the crash occurred sometime after 11 p.m. The vehicle crashed through the concrete wall of an overpass and then fell several feet into the middle of I-5.

When firefighters arrived to the scene they found the car engulfed in flames on the freeway’s center divider, Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority told reporters. After working on the situation, fire fighters found a body inside a vehicle. It was the driver, who pronounced dead at the scene.

Irvine Police Department investigators believe that the vehicle had to be traveling “at a speed great enough to break through the wall,” said Lt. Julia Engen. The driver involved in the single-car crash has not been identified yet, she told reporters.

An initial investigation led officials to believe that the driver of the Toyota Matrix had been traveling south in the carpool lane just before the fiery crash.

The driver of the Matrix exited the freeway at Barranca Parkway in the carpool lane where Barranca Parkway intersects the freeway exit in a “T” intersection on the overpass, crossed the roadway and crashed into the retaining wall on the opposite side. At this point, the Toyota Matrix broke through the concrete wall and fencing, and then fell several feet onto the freeway. It landed on the center median away from traffic lanes in both directions of the I-5.

Officials worked hard to clear and investigate the scene but several southbound lanes of the freeway where shut down until 4 a.m. Monday.

Single-vehicle collisions can unexpectedly happen. To lessen the chances of being in collision, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to follow the laws of the road but even then, a car accident can happen when its least expected.

Victims of car accidents naturally file a claim against insurance companies and expect to get the compensation they deserve to cover the costs associated with the wreck. Unfortunately, insurance companies aim to pay as minimum as possible and take advantage of the victim’s emotional state. They push victims to commit to a meager compensation, which because of their emotional state, often accept and forget to pursue other monetary compensation they are entitled to receive. Instead, insurance companies pocket the money and leave you, the victim, scrambling to find the financial resources you need to cover your costs.

Don’t be left fighting against insurance companies on your own, let one of our Irvine car accident lawyers do it for you and get you the compensation you deserve. Call (877)782-3777 to speak to car accident lawyer near you!

Irvine Car Accident at Fast Food Drive-Thru

A Toyota Camry abruptly disrupted two young men who were about to place an order at a McDonald’s in Irvine. Allegedly while in a drive-thru, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree and the vehicle the young men were ordering from.

William McCarthy, 22, and his cousin Tolga Eren, 25, were sideswiped while inside a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. It was approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday when the two men were waiting to order at the McDonald’s on 5445 Alton Parkway and the driver of a 2003 Camry came up fast behind them, jumped a curb, and slammed into a tree before colliding with their vehicle.

According to reporters, the Camry was damaged on the right front passenger side, bumper and windshield, in addition to the two airbags deploying.

Officials and emergency respondents were called to the scene. When they arrived, medical professionals tended to two women lying on a patch of grass adjacent to the McDonald’s, while police officers interviewed the drivers and witnesses.

Initially there was some confusion as to who was behind the wheel of the Camry. But after reviewing security footage, officials and McDonald’s employees confirmed who the driver of the Camry was.

The driver did not want to give his name to reporters, but he told police that he was an Arcadia resident. He was in Orange County with his wife and was on his way home after having picked up his daughter but they stopped at the fast food restaurant to grab a quick bite.

Police believed the man was not intoxicated or under the influence of any drug at the time of the accident and decided not to file a police report.

“Both of your insurances will handle this,” a police officer told the two drivers.

A young woman was transported to Hoag Hospital Irvine after complaining of some discomfort in her chest area, police said.

The man who did not want to give his name to reporters told officials that he was idle at the drive-thru lane before suddenly pressing down on the gas. He had the option to collide into the car directly in front of him but swerved towards the tree instead.

Collision Leaves Two Dead

A 17 year old male struck a man and a woman dead.

The collision occurred in Irvine around 7:30 a.m. on Eastwood near the Venta Spur trail. One of the victims, a 65 year old man, was found on the ground with severe injuries. He was taken to a hospital, and he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim, a 61 year old woman was later found underneath some debris created by the collision. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The two victims were a couple that lived near the location of the crash.

According to investigators, the 17 year old male was driving in a Honda and lost control of the vehicle. He drove off the roadway and onto a sidewalk. Then, he drove into shrubs striking the couple. The vehicle was stopped after it collided into a wall and a tree.

The driver was driving to Northwood High School. He did not sustain any injuries from the collision. Eastwood was temporarily closed between Monticello and Gold Rush. The street was closed until 5 p.m. Irvine Police Department Accident-Investigation team was inspecting the scene.

Investigators have not determined the exact cause of the accident. The driver collided into the victims because he lost control. There have not been any arrests or citations made.

Unfortunately, such stories are very common. The leading cause of teenage deaths is traffic fatalities. .  In 2010, a quarter of 15 to 24 year olds deaths were traffic fatalities.  In this same year, there were more motor vehicle deaths than firearm related deaths, homicides, suicides, or accidental poisonings.

There are many contributors to teen traffic fatalities. One of the main causes is inexperience. Many teen drivers lack experience driving. This affects their reaction time, decision making, and driving capabilities. Before letting your teen drive on their own, drive with them in many different situations. For example, accompany them while they drive at night in the rain. Coaching them through difficult driving situations will make them better drivers. Distracted driving is also another contributor to teen traffic fatalities. Teens are constantly distracted by mobile devices, friends, and more. Set a good example for them, and educate them about the dangers of distracted driving.
