There was also another incident involving three teenage boys. The recent hit and runs have also resulted in deaths. A woman was killed by a taxi while crossing a Garden Grove street, and a 24-year-old man also died in a hit-and-run accident in Westminster.

An individual charged with a hit and run conviction can face up to four years in state prison. If the driver was drunk, he or she can face up to five years. Hit-and-run drivers may also serve additional time if there are serious injuries or fatalities.
