Fullerton police arrested a man for suspicion of drunken driving and hitting two pedestrians.
The two pedestrians were struck at East Amerige Avenue and Harbor Boulevard. It occurred at about 2:15 a.m. A witness saw the car hit a woman. According to the witness, he ran to the vehicle when it stopped and opened the car door. The witness told the driver he had hit someone, but the driver drove off. Other witnesses reported the vehicle’s license plate.
The female victim was taken to UCI medical center for serious injuries. She is being treated for injuries but is stable. Thankfully, the male victim did not sustain any serious injuries. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police were able to find the suspect in Buena Park. The suspect had lost control of his vehicle at Commonwealth Avenue near Western Avenue. He had struck a center median.
This accident could have been avoided if the driver had been more responsible. There is no excuse to ever drink and drive. You can always find a designated driver or a cab to take you home. If you have any doubts if you are capable of driving, do not drive. It is not worth it to risk your life or others’ lives. One impaired driving can hurt countless lives.
